Cheese Straw Witch Fingers

Ingredients for witch finger cheese straws

Ingredients:

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded1/4 cup butter, softened1/2 cup +2 tbsp flour1/4 tsp salt1/8 tsp cayenne pepper12-24 slivered almond slices

How to make witch finger cheese straws

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350℉ / 176 ℃.

In a large bowl, cream butter with beater until light and fluffy, then add shredded cheese and beat until well blended.
In a separate bowl, mix together flour, salt and cayenne pepper.
Add flour mixture to cheese mixture and stir with a spoon until a dough forms.You may need to use your (very clean) hands to complete the mix thoroughly.
For large witch fingers, scoop out a scant tablespoon of mixture and roll out into a finger shape. for small cheese straws, use a teaspoon sized amount. Gently place on an ungreased baking sheet.Place a slivered almond slice on tip of each finger and for an extra effect, use a toothpick to create wrinkle lines.
Bake for 15 minutes, for large fingers. Bake 12-14 minutes for small fingers.Let cool and serve, or store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
