Hard-Boiled Eggs
My husband can tell you that my mornings are not complete without eggs. I really do love eggs, from my head down to my legs! (…or however that jingle goes🎵) Eggs are great anyway you cook them in my book, but today this recipe is for simple Hard-Boiled Eggs. This is a staple recipe that everyone should have on hand, because there are several dishes that use hard-boiled eggs, such as salads, sandwiches, chicken casserole, potato salads and my favorite…deviled eggs! (My mom makes the best and never uses a recipe and I haven’t been able to ever successfully duplicate…maybe one day!)
Let’s begin!
Ingredients:
-
Eggs
-
Water
-
Pot
Really….that’s it!
Instructions:
Place eggs in a pot large enough to add cold water till water is at least 1 inch above the top of the eggs.
On high heat, bring water to a boil, then put lid on pot and remove from heat. Let eggs cook, covered, for 12-14 minutes.
Transfer eggs to a bowl filled with ice water and let cool for 12-15 minutes.
Use the back side of a spoon to gently crack egg shell, rotating all around and peel egg shell off and discard.
If egg shell is difficult to peel, you can try rolling it in-between your hands, applying slight pressure to help loosen.
Tip: slightly older eggs are easier to peel than fresh.
What will you make with your hard-boiled eggs? Shown here is my delicious Egg Salad & Avocado Sandwich, find the recipe HERE.
Enjoy!

Eggs can vary based on their size, type and freshness. In my experience, a slightly older egg yields a better hard-boiled egg that is easier to peel.
