Crockpot Chicken Barbeque
If you’re looking for a healthier way to enjoy barbeque, try swapping pork for chicken and make my easy Crockpot Chicken Barbeque. (Also would work with turkey breast.) With very little prep and a few minimal ingredients, you’ll have delicious home made barbeque you can serve on buns, or by itself with some sides. It also makes a perfect alternative for a rainy day BBQ. Another great idea, is adding it to a soup or stew for a wholesome and substantial cold weather meal.

Crockpot Chicken Barbeque

- Mix together barbeque sauce and water in the bottom of crockpot.
- Thickly slice your onion and place slices in sauce/water mixture in the bottom of crockpot.
- Add chicken on top of sliced onions, then sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Next, evenly sprinkle the garlic powder and smoked paprika over top of the chicken.
- Secure lid on crockpot and set on low for 8 hours, or if short on time, cook on high for 4-5 hours.
- After cooking time is over, use two forks to shred chicken apart. (Do not remove any juice from cooking)
- Turn crockpot to warm and leave in juice to continue simmering for at least 10-15 minutes to soak up juice, then it is ready to serve.
