Every year my husband and kids look forward to Chick-fil-A’s peppermint chip milkshake, their seasonal limited time offering that starts November 1st. Yes, I would LOVE to join in and enjoy one also, but I am lactose intolerant and always feel left out. Not anymore! I have created a dairy-free copycat homemade version of Chick-fil-a’s Peppermint Chip Milkshake for everyone to enjoy. Easily made with only three main ingredients: dairy-free vanilla ice cream, candy cane flavor syrup and dark chocolate, whip up this minty holiday treat in the convenience of your own home at a fraction of the price. Makes 18 ounces.

I used Nature’s Flavors organic Candy Cane Flavor Syrup for an amazing peppermint flavor.

Let’s begin!

Ingredients:

Optional garnish: Dairy-free whipped topping, maraschino cherries and crushed peppermint candies or candy canes.

Instructions:

Let ice cream sit out at room temperature for 5-10 minutes, then measure out 4 cups and add to a blender.

Next, add flavor syrup, chocolate and food color powder (if using.) Pulse a few times, scrape down sides, then blend on high for 2 minutes.

Pour into serving glasses and top with whipped cream and cherry, if desired. I added a candy cane spoon for fun…and to scoop up the whipped cream. 😋 Tip: Freeze mixture for a scoopable ice cream treat.

My holiday season is now complete with this homemade peppermint milkshake Chick-fil-A copycat that is dairy-free and delicious!

How to make peppermint ice cream

Want peppermint ice cream instead of a milkshake? Use the same recipe as above and freeze mixture for 30-45 minutes then scoop!

To make chocolate peppermint cones, dip open end of a waffle or sugar cone into melted chocolate then roll in crushed peppermints or candy canes.

Enjoy!
