Seven Layer Bars

These Seven Layer Bars (sometimes called Granny Squares) are effortless thrown together for a quick and easy delicious dessert. Layers of chocolate and butterscotch chips, along with coconut and pecans are toasted in sweetened condensed milk on top of a graham cracker crust.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 1/2 cup unsweetened flaked coconut
  • 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350℉ / 176℃ and get out a 9x13 cake pan.
  • While oven is preheating, add stick of butter to pan and place in oven to melt.
  • When butter is fully melted, remove pan and add graham cracker crumbs. Mix together to coat with butter, then spread and pat down to cover bottom of pan from edge-to-edge.
  • Sprinkle pecans evenly over graham crackers. Then evenly sprinkle chocolate and butterscotch chips on top. Next, sprinkle flaked coconut on top evenly.
  • The last layer to add is the sweetened condensed milk. Pour or spoon milk evenly on top.
  • Bake for 22-28 minutes or until coconut is golden brown.
  • Let set on cooling rack for 5-10 minutes, then use a knife to go around edges to loosen. Let cool another 15-20 minutes before cutting into squares.
