Easy Crockpot Stuffing (dairy-free recipe)

This is the best recipe for slow cooker dressing that cooks in your Crockpot on the counter while you prepare the rest of the meal on your stove top or oven. It’s easily transported and plugged back in at your destination to stay warm. This traditional holiday side dish is moist, fluffy and full of savory flavors and would be perfect for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup plant butter I use Country Crock olive oil based plant butter
  • 2 tsp Dash original seasoning blend
  • 1 1/2 tsp dry rubbed sage
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 large sweet onion diced (I used a vedalia onion)
  • 2 cups sliced celery about 6 large stalks
  • 12 cups two 12oz bags herb seasoned stuffing blend
  • 3 cups bone broth I use the reduced sodium option
  • 2 large eggs whisked

Instructions
 

  • Grease (or spray with non-stick spray) the inside of your 8-quart (or larger) slow cooker or Crockpot.
  • In a medium saucepot, add plant butter and melt on over medium heat. Next, add salt, pepper, spices, onion and celery. Continue cooking over medium heat while stirring occasionally for about 5-7 minutes, or until vegetables start to soften a little. Remove from heat and let cool at least 10 minutes.
  • Add stuffing blend bread cubes to greased crockpot, then add the celery and onion mixture and stir to blend. Next, pour in the bone broth and stir to moisten.
  • Add whisked eggs and stir to blend evenly. Put lid on slow cooker and set to high and cook for 25 minutes, then set on low and cook for 3 more hours.
  • When done cooking, remove lid and fluff dressing with large spoon and set on warm until ready to serve (replace lid while keeping warm.)
