Made from fresh strawberries and lemons, this is a most refreshing taste of spring and summer!

Made from fresh strawberries and lemons, this is a most refreshing taste of spring and summer!

Who wants plain lemonade? …not this girl! I want some sweet pizazz to step it up a notch. This easy recipe for fresh Strawberry Lemonade will make you want to kick back on your rocking chair on a hot summer’s day and just take it all in and savor every last drop. Made from fresh strawberries and fresh lemons, you can’t go wrong and will certainly be satisfied. Please visit your local strawberry farm when the season is in, they are they best! …and make sure the lemons are plump and heavy (the heavier, the more juice inside when it comes to citrus.)

Side note: The weather forecast the morning I made this did not call for rain, but when it came time for pictures, a huge thunderstorm stuck around for a couple hours, so hopefully later I will have some better photographs, but for now, enjoy the “slightly photoshopped” ones I took in horrible lighting.)

Let’s begin!

Ingredients:

IMG_3387.jpg
  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2-3 cups fresh strawberries, stems removed and roughly chopped. (I used 3 because I like a strong strawberry flavor)

  • ½- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (I used ½ cup in my recipe, which is about 4 medium lemons)

  • 6 cups cold water (approximately)

  • Ice

  • Extra chopped strawberries and lemon slices, for garnish

You will also need a blender or food processor.

Instructions:

Start by adding the water and sugar to a medium sauce pot.

Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. (Basically you are making a simple syrup to dissolve the sugar so it easily blends with other ingredients.)

Add the strawberries to blender…

Puree or blend until smooth, about 1-2 minutes.

Pour pureed strawberries into the sugar/water mixture.

Then add the fresh lemon juice and stir together well.

Add water (I don’t measure, I just fill almost full)

Add ice if desired.

Garnish with fresh chopped strawberries and lemon slices and start sipping away!

Husband tested, husband approved👍 My husband is a lover of strawberries and he was crazy about this refreshing drink!
